Our Story

Loyd Electronics is Matthew Loyd Smith--a songwriter, musician, and engineer. Formally educated in electrical engineering, Matthew uses his knowledge to renew the discarded and bring new life to the antiquated. Since his youth, Matthew has always been intrigued by the stories and histories used objects can tell. This intrigue grew into a passion for vintage automobile repair and restoration, and has now branched into musical electronics built with vintage components.

After playing and recording with his own equipment (and the positive feedback he'd receive from people who heard his creations), he's decided to share his passion for precise imperfection with you.
